The Spirit Jazz Project is very pleased to announce its first album "Square Peg", featuring nine original titles."Square Peg". On it you will find handcrafted, American made songs that will satisfy almost any musical palate. The songs are constructed using jazz harmonic devices welded to satisfiying grooves. The melodies are memorable, hummable. The instrumentation is all natural. It consists of guitar, bass, and drums (with auxilliary percussion added for flavor).
The vibe of this album: To connect to the spirit of the listener. There is a spiritual aspect to the construction and execution of these songs. The melodies and titles are crafted to honor God. This is said humbly, without hypocrisy, and without apology. Listen carefully and you might hear the stories that the songs suggest. Some titles have Biblical references. Some are meant to minister/relate to everyday life. If you would like further explanation as to the titles, please see the blog section of this site. These tracks were recorded "live", with other instrumentation added at a later time by members of the group. This recording does not use "virtual instrumentalists". This is real music, for real people! |
